One adult and two children were seriously injured after a three-car wreck on W. Hwy. 16.
The crash occurred Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., when the driver of a 2012 Jeep Wrangler traveling west on Ga. 16 near Elders Mill Road struck two cars stopped in traffic.
A 2001 Honda Civic and a 2015 Chrysler 200 were stopped in traffic in the westbound lane when they were struck from behind by the Jeep. The initial impact pushed the Honda into the Chrysler.
After the initial impact, the Honda continued west across the eastbound lane off the south shoulder and came to rest in a private parking lot, according to a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson.
All three occupants of the Honda were transported to Atlanta Medical Center, including two children – ages 8 and 7. No update has been provided regarding their condition at this time.
The occupants of the Jeep and Chrysler were not transported. The accident is still under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
