A vigil in memory of Aubria “Bria” Foster brought together some 350 people on Thursday night.

Family and friends shared memories of the 19-year-old, recalling a feisty young woman who loved praise dancing and had an incandescent smile. Foster lost her life in a drive-by shooting on Savannah Street on Sunday night.

Ronnie Hill, who works with youth at Faith International Christian Center where Foster was a member, delivered the main remarks – speaking of the need for love and forgiveness.

The vigil was originally planned for Greenville Street Park but was moved to the fellowship hall of St. Smyrna Baptist Church because of rainy weather. At the close of the vigil, everyone moved into the parking lot where candles were lighted and helium balloons sent aloft.

Full coverage will be in the Sunday, Jan. 6, issue of The Newnan Times-Herald.
