Ernest W. “Buddy” Galbreath

Mr. Ernest W. “Buddy” Galbreath, 99, of Newnan, Ga., passed away, Friday, January 11, 2019 at Southwest Christian Care Hospice, Union City, Ga.

He was born May 9, 1919 in Birmingham, Ala., to the late Mr. James C. Galbreath and Mrs. Maggie Aderholt Galbreath.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marvin Keith Galbreath, and brothers, Gordon and Pat Galbreath.

Buddy served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He served for 14 years attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.  Following discharge from the service, he worked for Railway Express Agency for over 30 years before retiring.

Buddy was a Master Mason of 60 years with Sylvan and Palmetto Daylight Masonic Lodges.

A Masonic graveside service, will be performed by Eddie Millians at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on January 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St. Newnan, GA 30263.

He is survived by his daughter, Connie G. Kelly of Peachtree City; granddaughter, Amy Kelly of Newnan; grandson, William Kelly of Newnan; great-grandchildren, Jarrett McClain and Sophia McClain.
