The East Coweta Indians stopped flying under the radar along time ago.
With a 21-1 overall record and a 7-1 mark in league play, head coach Royal Maxwell’s club continues to set school records for victories.
East Coweta has clinched a spot in the state tournament and can close out a No.1 seed heading into the region tournament with a victory Friday night at Campbell.
Along with it, East Coweta also enjoys its highest ranking in school history, coming into the game against the Spartans ranked No. 3 in this week’s Maxpreps Class 7A poll behind undefeated McEachern.
The Indians are ranked just behind McEachern in this week’s joint poll by SandysSpiel.com and the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
East Coweta’s only loss this season was against region opponent Pebblebrook on the road.
The Indians, however, knocked off Pebblebrook 65-62 in overtime in the rematch at East Coweta.
East Coweta is 7-0 and home and has a 13-game winning streak.
In the first meeting against Campbell, East Coweta won 95-49.
