East Coweta’s wrestling team made its mark at the annual North Atlanta Warrior Classic on Saturday, finishing as runner-up while led by Zion Selby’s individual victory at 160 pounds.
A total of 18 schools competed in the tournament.
Selby was among seven Indians that placed in the event, five of which reached the tournament finals.
He closed out his effort with a pin over Chattahoochee’s Quinn Stanley in 1:44.
Also advancing to the tournament finals were Dylan Spelios at 170 pounds,
Spelios battled Chattahoochee’s Marcus Stephen into the third period before a fall in 5:09.
Titus Aun and Zekkhi Selby also placed second while Rayshaud Brown, Jaxon Garner and Christian Gordon took third.
Gordon won his third-place match at 106 pounds with a pin in 2:02 over Conner Clark of Chattahoochee.
East Coweta’s JV team went 3-2 in its dual event.
The Indians will compete in this weekend’s South Metro Invitational.
