Smith Chapel United Methodist Church will hold its Super Saturday Barbecue and Fish Plates fundraiser on Saturday.

The event will start at 10 a.m. at the church, 525 Welcome-Arnco Road. Plates are $10 each. The menu includes tilapia, whiting, pulled pork, ribs and Brunswick stew with coleslaw, potato chips, baked beans, bread and cake as sides.

East Newnan Baptist Church is beginning a new member orientation class starting Sunday.

Dr. Anthony Langley will teach the class – during four consecutive Sundays, at 9:45 a.m.

The church is also holding PeeWee Club and TeamKIds on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. and prayer and Bible study on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Summer Hill Baptist Church, 95 Turkey Creek Road, will celebrate its 149th church anniversary on Sunday.

Jeremy Bryant, interim pastor, will preach at 11 a.m. At 2 p.m., Antonne Martin, pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, will bring the message.

“Dinner will be served,” said church member Annetha Lowe.

The Newnan First United Methodist Church Youth Choir is selling fruit through Nov. 11.
