The Almand home, built in 1880, is one of the sites featured on the upcoming Christmas Tour of Homes. This year’s homes are in the College-Temple neighborhood.

The 2018 Christmas Tour of Homes is hosted by Newnan Presbyterian Preschool and Kindergarten.

The tour will be on Dec. 7 from 4-9 p.m. in the College-Temple Historic Neighborhood. Tickets can be ordered until Dec. 6 at midnight from the website  –

Tickets can only be purchased the day of the tour at Christy’s Café starting at 3:30 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the tour. “A portion of the proceeds will go to the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society,” said Barbara Kookogey of NPPK.

The Almand Home at 51 W. Washington St. is one of the homes featured on the upcoming Christmas Tour of Homes.

The two-story, four bedroom, two and a half bath home was built in 1880. It has undergone many changes over the years, but has maintained some beautiful features that the current residents still enjoy today, such as, five fireplaces, a clawfoot tub, hardwood floors and some original wavy-glass windows.

The most notable renovations have been to the kitchen and master bathroom which began in 1999, including a new layout of the area and the addition of a back deck. New cabinets and countertops were added in 2014.

The exterior of the home was also changed in 2014 to its current color of Hague Blue.

The house was purchased in the fall of 2015 by Nick and Neely Almand, who have added their own unique style.
