Faith Creek United Methodist Church, 2331 Highway 29 North, will host the annual Ginger Lily Festival – Autumn Edition on Saturday and Sunday.

Hours for the festival are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be dozens of arts and crafts vendors, food vendors and activities to entertain children.

Church members will be on hand to answer any questions about the historic church, and attendees will have the opportunity to observe the progress on the new Madras Community Center next door.

Turin United Methodist Church, 20 Longstreet Ave., Turin will celebrate homecoming on Sunday.

A time of gathering and greeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. At 10:45, there will be a musical performance by L.C. Lane. The worship service will begin at 11, and a covered-dish meal will follow.

Lane is a composer, guitarist, humorist and recording artist. A native of Columbus, Lane is a graduate of Columbus State University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

For 30 years, Lane served on the staff of local churches in Georgia and Kentucky. His last position was at First Baptist Church of Newnan, where he was minister of music for 23 years.

Lane has sung in churches and other venues throughout the United States as well as events in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Canada, Central and South America. Over the last 35 years he has presented more than 3,500 programs.

He has released five recordings. “Great Life,” the latest, was released in the fall of 2004.

Laity Sunday will be held at Newnan Chapel United Methodist Church, 72 Robinson St. on Sunday.

The service will start at 10 a.m. The speaker will be Julia Morrison-Morgan.

This year’s theme is "Therefore Go! With Hope Through Offering Christ.”

New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church  will celebrate its church anniversary on Sunday.

The service will start at 2 p.m. K.L. Curtis, pastor of Rocky Mt. Bethel Baptist Church near Luthersville, will bring the message.

East Newnan Baptist Church is offering new and improved KidZone, Pee Wee Club and Team Kids programs.

Church member June Harris said the programs are for ages 2-5. 

“It is going full-swing on Wednesday nights from 6-7:30,” Harris said.

“This program is offered right after Wednesday night supper, when parents can attend the Wednesday night Bible study,” she added. “The youth have their own age-appropriate worship program.”

Life can be tough blending two families.

A Blended Family Small Group has been started. The group meets at Crossroads Church, 2564 GA-154, Newnan, room 205, every Wednesday night at 7. Child care is provided.
