After losing twice last Saturday to end the 52-game winning streak, the East Coweta Lady Indians quickly got back on track this week, winning games against rival Newnan on Monday and Westlake on Tuesday in Region 2-7A games.

The Lady Indians outscored their two region opponents 30-0.

Wednesday’s game against Alexander in a non-region contest was a little bit more of a challenge, but the result was the same, as East Coweta defeated Alexander 4-1.

After playing three scoreless innings, the Lady Indians scored once in the fourth and three times in the fifth.

Alexander scored once in the seventh, but East Coweta pitched around the rally and got out of the inning to end the game.

Pitcher Kelley Lynch went the distance for the Lady Indians, allowing just one hit, striking out 11 and walking one.

Lilly Agan, Caroline Lively, Hannah Miller and Carmen Prior each had an RBI en route to the win,.

Agan and Prior, who batted in the first two spots in the East Coweta lineup, led the way with two hits.
