Davy Scott, 25, passed from this life on August 30, 2018. He was born October 1, 1992. Davy graduated from Woodward Academy and attended Samford University and the University of West Georgia where he was a founding member of the Sigma Chi chapter. Davy loved life and the company of his family and many friends. Davy loved all sports: playing softball and basketball, exceeding personal bests in the gym, and cheering on his beloved Woodward War Eagles, Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies and spending time in the water, which included boating, fishing, rafting and swimming. He also loved his mother's cooking.

In the last year of his life, Davy excelled at mentoring young men with addiction issues at the Bridges of Hope and Agape Recovery. Davy frequently served as a featured speaker at AA meetings around the Atlanta area. He was strong with his faith in God and prayed daily. Words fail us as we try to express the measure of our love for Davy, and the sorrow from his loss.

Davy is survived by his parents, Melissa and Chris Scott of Newnan; sister and brother-in-law Kathryn Robinson (Brian) of Kennesaw; nephew, Asa Kovera Robinson; brother, Payton Scott of Newnan and grandparents, Sigrid and Jim Scott of Newnan.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 1 at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Newnan on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at 3 p.m., with a graveside service and reception to follow.
