Providence Baptist Church on Summers-McKoy Road will celebrate homecoming on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Dr. Melvin D. Brittian Jr., pastor of the church, will deliver the homecoming message. “Dinner will be served in the fellowship hall immediately after the service,” church member Doris Powell said.

Revival at Providence will be Tuesday-Thursday at 7 p.m. “People are urged to join with the church family in experiencing a refreshing revival through inspirational hymns and songs, fervent prayers, powerful preaching and teaching, anointed praise, spiritual and truthful worship, transforming ministry and Christian fellowship,” Powell said.

Evangelists for the revival will be Billy Wood, pastor of God’s Tabernacle of Praise in Union City, Tuesday; Anthony Melson, pastor of Bethel Heard Baptist Church in Franklin, Wednesday; and Keith Lewis, pastor of Flint Ridge Baptist Church in Bowdon, Thursday.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Roscoe Road will celebrate homecoming on Sunday.

There will be a single worship service at 10:30 a.m. A potluck lunch will follow the service, with activities for all ages.

The Frigid Frog will bring shaved ice treats.

Registration is now open for the Woolsey Baptist Church’s 5k for Life , which will be held Sept. 15.

The fundraiser supports the Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center.  Participants must register by Sept. 9 to guarantee a T-shirt.

The entry fee by Sept. 14 is: 1k Kid’s Fun Run, $15; 5k, $30 with a family maximum of $70.  Registration/packet pick-up is Sept. 14 from 12 noon-4 p.m.

Registration on the day of the race is: 1k, $25; 5k, $40 with a family max of $80.  Registration will be from 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. The 1k and 5k begin at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively.

Church member Patti Phillips said the family rate is not available online. People wanting to register for the family rate should print and complete the registration form either by mailing or delivering it to the church office, 115 Hampton Road, Fayetteville.
