Five men accused of setting a Sharpsburg home on fire will soon have their day in Coweta County Superior Court.

Stone Lloyd Matheson, Brandon Andrew Nino, Lanier Daniel Brooking, Bryan Thomas Libourel and Collin Landon Gwinn were indicted by a Coweta County Grand Jury in July.

All five men face charges of arson, arson of lands and criminal damage to property, according to the indictment.

The document stated the five men intentionally set fire the home of Gene Lavine on McIntosh Trail in April. They recorded the crime and then shared it on social media.

Video footage showed one of the men, believed to be Brandon Nino, setting a couch on fire, according to investigators with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

As the flames grew higher, the men could be heard cheering in the background, CCSO officials said.

According to the arrest warrant for Brooking, the suspects let the home burn, “leaving no wood, furniture or other items behind.”
