Thank you so much for the your editorial on Wednesday, July 25.
Your experience in trying to contact Congressman Ferguson practically duplicated mine. The "no response" response seems to be his MO.
In desperation, I went by his office on July 6, to hand-deliver a letter regarding the border wall. After explaining the situation to a very polite young man, Brett Smith, I felt encouraged. He actually put a post-it note on the letter with my email and assured me that Congressman Ferguson would respond.
After again hearing nothing, I talked with Mr. Skinner explaining how hopeless I was feeling. Thanks to him the Times-Herald printed my letter on July 19.
Then last week, our household received a postcard regarding H.R. Bill 6415 and a couple of days later I received an email from the congressman that repeated the postcard word for word. I assume it was the press release to which you referred because none of my specific questions or concerns were answered from my original letter.
I know our elected representatives cannot possibly get personal with every constituent, but there is absolutely no excuse in his failure to respond to The Times-Herald. I am so appreciative of your being the voice of the people who he so easily ignores.
