Mr. Clarence Wells Jackson, Jr., 93, of Newnan, passed away August 8, 2018 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born May 8, 1925 in Ashburn, to the late Clarence W. Jackson and Corinne Betts Jackson.

Clarence served in the pacific in the U.S. Navy during World War II. At the end of the War, Clarence returned to Georgia where he met his wife of 70 years, Jeannine Taylor Jackson, in Newnan.

After a 2-year courtship the two married in 1948. The couple grew their family and welcomed three sons, Wayne, Alan and David. Over the next 10 years while Clarence started his own business which he managed until his retirement in 1985.

Clarence served in various lay roles at Newnan Presbyterian Church over 65-years where he and his family enjoyed membership.

During retirement Clarence could most often be found working in his yard and garden, playing golf with friends and enjoying his ever growing family.

Clarence and Jeannine were blessed with three sons, eight grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren (and counting). Family and close friends are the treasure of life, and Clarence was indeed a wealthy man.

A public memorial service officiated by Reverend David Jones will be held at Newnan Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. followed by a brief reception in the Church's Fellowship Hall.

A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on August 11, 2018.

Survivors include wife, Jeannine Taylor Jackson of Newnan; sons, Wayne Edward Jackson (Jennie) of Newnan, Alan Wells Jackson (Leigh) of Newnan, David Bruce Jackson (Jeanine) of Gainesville; grandchildren Michael Jackson (Rebecca) of Newnan, Corinne Jackson Hindman (Corey) of Carrollton, Jett Jackson (Audra) of Birmingham, Ala., Roy Jackson (Kara) of Carrollton, Henry Jackson (Katie) of Birmingham, Ala., Nella Jackson Perrella (Matthew) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lillie Jackson of Birmingham, Ala. and Will Jackson of Atlanta; nine great-grandchildren (and counting); special golfing buddies and numerous close friends.
