A rezoning hearing for a Ga. Hwy. 154 property is set for Tuesday’s meeting of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners.

The 2-acre tract near the intersection of Willis Road and Hwy. 154, adjacent to Frazier’s Gas and Grocery, was previously rezoned from residential to C-2, Neighborhood Business District.

The applicants are now requesting LM – Light Industrial zoning for a bread distribution facility, which will include a retail storefront as well as a warehouse and distribution center.

Commissioners will also hear a request for a buffer reduction for the tract. Staff is recommending denial of the variance.

Other items on the agenda include:

• A resolution to place a question on the November election ballot regarding the creation of a Coweta County Recreation Authority.

• A request for a height variance and changes to the minimum room size requirements for a hotel to be built on Hollz Parkway. The county’s current rules require a minimum of 480 square-foot for a single bed motel room, but the applicants are requesting a 250 square-foot minimum.

• Acceptance of contracts related to the Madras Community Center project.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday and is held in the commissioner’s meeting room, upstairs at 37 Perry St.
