Three golfers with ties to Coweta County competed this week in the three-round Georgia Girls Championship at The Country Club of Roswell.
Central Christian golf alumnus Ivy Shepherd finished 17-over par and finished in eighth place.
Shepherd had seven birdies over her three rounds and 24 pars. Shepherd, who was also a standout basketball player at Central, earning a spot on the Newnan Times-Herald/CowetaScore All-County team, will play college golf at Clemson University.
Teagan Fritts finished tied for 38th with Destiny Hill. Fritts finished her three-rounds of golf with three birdies, all coming in the second-round. She also finished with 25 pars.
Cameron Daniel finished her three-rounds of golf tied for 41st with three others golfers, including Sara Hsu, Katherine Densmore, and Madeline Krueger.
Daniel had three birdies and 22 birdies.
The tournament was won by Lawrenceville’s Jeny Bee, who dominated the event finishing 9-under par. Second place Kate Owens was one over par.
Mark Grace competes in Georgia Junior Championship: Trinity Christian golf alum and Class of 2018 valedictorian Mark Grace finished in a five-way tie for 62nd at the Georgia Junior Championship at the Rivermont Counrty Club in Johns Creek along with Matthew Giesler, Ryan Smith, Jackson Cross and Andrew Hughes.
Grace finished his three rounds of golf with three birdies and 20 pars.
Luke Dasher won the tournament by one stroke, finishing 2-under par. Brandon Cho finished second.
They were the only two golfers to finish the three-round tournament under par.
