Hours for the fundraiser will be from 11 a.m. 5 p.m. Plates – for $10 each – will include catfish, whiting or tilapia along with baked beans, coleslaw, bread and sliced cake.

Seasoned and flavored pork skins will also be sold, and there will be a yard sale.

Dr. and Mrs. Melvin D. Brittian Jr. will be honored at the 29th Anniversary Fellowship at Providence Baptist Church on Summers-McKoy Road on Saturday.

The service will start at 5 p.m. Marlon Simpson, pastor of Burns Chapel United Methodist Church, will bring the message.

Deborah Silver was the guest celebrant and preacher at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Roscoe Road on May 27, and she will be at St. Paul’s again this coming Sunday.

Silver is the director of Safe Church in the Diocese of Atlanta. She is also a pastoral psychotherapist and marriage and family Therapist. She enjoys providing pulpit supply for priest friends in the diocese and serving as a consultant and retreat leader. 

Silver lives with her husband, Bill Deneke, also an Episcopalian priest, in Decatur.

Powell Chapel United Methodist Church, 586 Old Atlanta Highway will hold a Pastor’s Anniversary Celebration on Sunday.

Joe P. Geter, pastor of the church, and his wife, Ernestine Geter, will be honored at the service, which will start at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Apostle TildenColton of Zion Deliverance Tabernacle of Newnan.

Dinner will be served after the service.

St. Peter Baptist Church, 1586 Lower Fayetteville Road, will celebrate its 146th Church Anniversary on Sunday.

The service will start at 2:30 p.m. Aaron Williams, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Shiloh, will be preaching.

Elim Baptist Church, 9 Elim Church Road, will holds its annual reviva from June 26-28.

Services will start at 7:30 p.m. Preaching will be – June 26, Willie Sinkfield, Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Gay; June 27, Eddie F. Collier, Towaliga County Line Baptist Church, Jackson; and June 28, Christopher A, Wimberly, Hunter Hill First Baptist Missionary Church, Atlanta.
