Coweta County is seeking public input on the future of the Madras Community Center.
The former Madras School will be transformed into the county’s largest community center. The gym will be restored, and something will be done with the school grounds.
Just what that will be hasn’t been decided yet. An online survey to gauge resident input on possible uses for the property will be available through Friday.
The survey can be filled out at http://www.coweta.ga.us/govern...
Coweta County now owns the school and property, following a property swap with the Coweta County Board of Education. The school system now owns 35 acres adjacent to the current Madras Middle School, which was formerly owned by Coweta County, and was purchased several years ago for recreational use. A small portion of land to be used as right-of-way for the future Madras Connector project was also included in the swap.
The school board gave final approval to the property transfer last week.
