Vikings win fourth straight

The Northgate Vikings baseball team extended its winning streak to four games Monday after beating New Manchester 13-0 in a Region 5 6-A contest.

Northgate dominated the game from the first inning, getting three runs to start the game, four in the second, two in the third and four in the fourth.

Northgate improved its record to 18-6 overall and 8-4 in region play heading into Tuesday region make-up game at Langston Hughes.

The top four teams in the region make the playoffs and the Vikings are currently in the fourth place.

Northgate’s faces Douglas County in a two-game region series next week to close out the season.

The Vikings outhit New Manchester 13-1, getting a one-hitter from starting pitcher Ryder Willard

Willard struckout 13 of the 15 batters he faced en route the victory.

Noah Aaron and Sam Jennings each knocked in three runs for the Vikings.

Jack Eskew and Shawn Ragan also finished the game with two hits.

New Manchester’s Jordan Antu had the only hit for the Jaguars.
