The East Coweta Indians built a three-run lead after one inning on the road Friday night at Westlake and they never looked back getting an easy 16-6 victory in Region 2-7A play.
East Coweta has secured second place in the Region 2-7A standings and improved its record to 17-9 overall and 11-2 in the region.
The Indians spread the offensive wealth getting help from several players throughout the lineup.
Nick Daniel put an exclamation point on the victory with a two-run homer in the seventh.
Tony Player and Ryan Dyal each had doubles and RBIs.
William Kelley also drove in a run.
The Indians also got a double from Bailey Psathas as part of their hit parade.
East Coweta 14, Douglas County 1:The Indians stepped out of Region 2-7A play Thurs- day night and beat Douglas County at home 14-1 in a game called after five innings.
East Coweta scored single runs in the first and second and blew the game open with seven runs in the third and five in the fifth.
William Kelley paced the Indians’ offense with four RBIs, including a two-run homer in the bottom of the third.
Landon Underhill and Brayden Carey each had two RBIs.
Carey and Ryan Dyal added triples.
East Coweta sent two pitchers to the mound against Douglas County with Daniel Smith pitching four innings and striking out five to pick up the win and Lanier Wright tossing one inning.
