Locals earn faculty honors from Georgia Tech

The following local students earned the distinction of faculty honors for Fall 2017 at the Georgia Institute of Technology: Lindley Hudson, Shanee Mortley, William Roden, Jermiah Russell and Christopher Truong, all of Newnan; Brennan Lockwood of Sharpsburg, Miles Parker of Palmetto; and Laura Sears of Senoia. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.


Burson named to Clemson dean's list

Elizabeth S. Burson of Newnan, whose major is language and international health,

was named to the dean's list at Clemson University for the fall 2017 semester. To be eligible, a student must earn a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.


Moore named to president's list at Clemson

Callahan W. Moore of Palmetto, whose major is political science, was named to the president's list at Clemson University for the fall 2017 semester. To be eligible, a student must earn a 4.0 grade-point average


Mercer University announces academic honors lists

Mercer University recently announced its academic honors lists for the Fall 2017 semester. Inclusion on these lists requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to their college or school within the university.

Area students named to the president’s list were: Kelvin Brown of Grantville; Jakob Barton, Shari Cheney, Kathryn Collier, Michael Hutson, Emily Landrum and Shaundrea Stepp, all of Newnan; Alyssa Boeur of Senoia; and Haley Alain, Alexis Dudenhefer, Laura Roden, Mary Katherine Taylor and Laura Walick, all of Sharpsburg.

Area students named to the dean’s list were: Mallory Channell of Moreland; Amy Booth, Elizabeth Boswell, Eboni Crosby, Airica Huntoon, Laurel Huster, Richard W. Jenkins, Matthew Paschal, Aja Rawden, Madeline Reece, Ashton Rohrschneider, Taylor Shaw, Melissa Caroline Sport, Alexander Waldron and Jordin Elizabeth Walker, all of Newnan; Elizabeth Lyle, Kayli Martin, Alex Neal, Shawn Shrader and Allison Stevens, all of Senoia; and Katherine Gravitt, Andrew Kelley, Kayla Kelley, Karen Wessells and Abigail Williams, all of Sharpsburg.
