Joseph John Seaman

Joseph John Seaman, Jr., 73, of Newnan, husband of Faye Ann Kruse Seaman, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at his home.

Born in Streator, Ill., December 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph John, Jr. and Lucille Rose Kimber Seaman. He was a Veteran having served in both the U.S. Army, where he was a medic in the 101st Airborne, and also in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Seaman was owner and operator of Seaman Ultrasound from 1988 until he retired in 2006. He was especially proud of his work with Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Seaman was a member of St. George Catholic Church for nearly 30 years.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Jo Seaman, and a sister, Joann Peek.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 48 years are two sons, Joseph John Seaman, V and wife Candy of Mendota, Ill. and Matthew Seaman and wife Mandy of Newnan. He was a loving grandpa to his grandchildren, Zoe Elizabeth Seaman, Margaret Ashlee “Maggie” Seaman and Bridget Lee Seaman. Other survivors include his sisters, Eleanor Belferd and husband William, Julie Griffin and husband Mike, Kathy Goode and husband Steve, Tommie Jean Clemens, and Trudy Stewart and husband Charles, all of Ottawa, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Russell Peek of Serena, Ill.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church with Father Henry Atem officiating. Burial will be later in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Manistee, Michigan.

The Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the church beginning at 10 a.m., followed by visitation until the service hour.
