Eric Bennett Flood, 57, of Newnan passed away Monday, December 25, 2017.
Mr. Flood is survived by his daughters, Ramsey Flood and Haley Flood, both of Atlanta; mother, Manette Copeland; brother, Stephen Flood; and sister, Tracy Hoeltke and niece Lauren, all of Hall County; and many cousins in Oklahoma.
Mr. Flood was born July 1, 1960 in Atlanta, Ga. Except for college and brief periods for work, from the age of two, he lived his entire life in Coweta County.
In his youth, he played in the band and showed cattle in 4-H club. He was employed by Eastern Air Lines before their demise.
Later, he was a wholesale distributor for Atlanta newspapers. He was an avid golfer and snow skier, skiing in several states as well as abroad. He was a fan of sports car racing, attending many races at Road Atlanta. He campaigned his old BMW to an SCCA division class championship in autocross (slalom).
Later in life, his primary focus was on raising his daughters and coaching their softball teams. He liked to watch racing, golf and skiing; followed by baseball, football, and hockey. He also enjoyed reading and was excited about becoming a grandfather.
Mr. Flood was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Flood, and his father, Clifford Bennett Flood.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, 8355 Senoia Road, (exit 61), Fairburn, GA 30213. Dr. Jimmy Orr will be officiating.
