Descendants of Revolutionary War soldiers sought

The General Daniel Newnan Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution is looking for descendants of three Revolutionary War soldiers buried at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The chapter is planning a grave marking ceremony for Feb. 24. The three soldiers are James Aken, Randal Robinson and William Smith.

The markers for Aken and Robinson are side-by-side near the Confederate section of the historic city cemetery. Robinson is buried not far away in a family lot.

Aken was born on the line between Maryland and Pennsylvania in 1762 or 63 and died April 12, 1843, Coweta County. Robinson was born May 2, 1762 in Granville County, N.C. and died February 27, 1842 in Coweta County.

Smith was born in 1751 in Nansemond, Va, He died in Coweta County on May 8, 1852.
