The Fill the Stocking Fund has topped $2,000.

Gifts received the day after Christmas pushed the fund over the top. The fund is maintained by the Coweta Community Foundation and sponsored by The Newnan Times-Herald.

Readers are asked to make contributions in honor or in memory of someone. The donations go to CCF and are tax-deductible. The money is divided among three charities that help in Coweta County at Christmas time.

Checks will be presented soon to Bridging the Gap, the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots.

The most recent donations received were:

• by Diane Parzygnat, in memory of Andy Parzygnat

• by Betty Johnson, in memory of her son, Billy Williamson, and her sister, Shirly Emory

• by Doris Dahlke, in honor of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren

The total received for the fund this year is $2,150. The Times-Herald has sponsored Fill the Stocking for several years.
