No one was hurt after a man reportedly robbed a local restaurant last weekend.

Police responded to the Eat Thai restaurant last Saturday around 6 p.m. after a man entered the store with a ski mask, removed it and demanded money from the register, according to Sgt. Beatrice Bugg with the Newnan Police Department.

The man allegedly produced a handgun and took around $75 before he fled on foot toward the railroad tracks on East Broad Street. The suspect was described as a white male in his late 30’s, with short blonde hair and a heavy southern accent.

One employee told police a man matching his description was seen the day before pacing around the restaurant outside, Bugg said. Police are reviewing surveillance footage, and the case remains under investigation.
