Aurena Hunt

I am nominating Ms. Aurena Hunt for the Senior of the Week. I’ve not known her long, but in some ways I feel like I’ve known her all my life. She’s my best friend, my mentor, my prayer partner, my inspiration for all things good, and the matriarch of our church. She is a devout and faithful woman of God who eats, sleeps and breathes His word. I smile when I think about God waiting for His day to begin as this woman’s feet touch the floor! As a young girl, Ms. Aurena was convinced that even though she couldn’t see God or touch Him, that He was indeed her Father and that knowing has shaped and carried her through both the happy and sad times of life. As a single mother of three, she worked at the cotton mill to support her children and she raised them the only way she knew how - in church. Today, her entire family attends Unveiling Word Global Deliverance Ministry in Newnan, where her middle daughter, Deborah, serves as Apostle and operates in the five-fold ministry. Margie, her oldest daughter, leads praise and worship as well as being an evangelist and her son, Francis operates the sound board and serves in the office of prophet. She is proud to tell people, “I am ministry,” and when her final day comes I can just hear the Lord as He welcomes her into the kingdom of heaven “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
