On Wednesday November 29, 2017, Granny passed peacefully at her daughter’s home.
Her final wishes were granted as she wanted to pass at home. She was cared for by her children and grandchildren. She was known as Granny by all who loved her. She was known for her unconditional love, her granny burgers and her fudge. She was a homemaker who loved consignment shops and caring for her family.
She was born on May 17, 1926 to the late Grady and Maggie Thompson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, W.R. “Bud” Dingler Jr., who lovingly called her D.D. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Gene Thompson; sisters, Ruby Rowe, Christine Carter, and Frances Ayers; and son-in-law, Mike Long.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Long; son, W.G. “Buddy” Dingler (Hazel); grandchildren, Mindie Long, Ben Long (Kacey), Stevie Morris (Jamie), Julie Storey (James) and Jeff Dingler (Pam); great-grandchildren, Camille, Joe and Brody Newman, Brianna Dingler, Mickayla Upchurch, Jake, Sadie and Bo Storey; great-great granddaughter, Ava Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews.
