Mrs. Virginia Payton Morris, 84, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born January 29, 1933 in Newnan to the late C.B. “Jack” Payton and Jodie Mulkey Payton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William H. Morris. 

Mrs. Morris grew up in Coweta County and graduated from the former Western High School. She was a longtime active member of the First Christian Church on Jackson Street.

She retired from Coweta-Fayette EMC and served as a Red Cross Blood Drive volunteer. 

The funeral service is Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Minister Clay Henry officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The visitation is Saturday evening between 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan.

Survivors include daughter, Dianne (Greg) Ferrell; sons, Jimmy (Marsha) Morris, Scott Morris; sister, Karen (Guy) Cox; brother, Jack Payton; granddaughters, Kati Ferrell, Cassie Ferrell, Claire Ferrell, Jana White, Kristin Morris; great-granddaughter, Annabella “Bella” White; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
