Scott Ludwig's column brought back memories. I was in Hawaii in 1966 and in Atlanta in 1967.  Years later, my kids asked if their Mother and I went to Woodstock. Listen people, the free love and drug era was media hype. Most people, like Ludwig, only read about it.

Years ago when I was in the Boy Scouts, one thing we would like to have had in our tent on a cold night was a Girl Scout. Now for you lucky Scouts this may be coming true. I guess I was just born too early.

Left wingers who claim police target blacks: Facts from the FBI. 737 people have been shot and killed by police this year in the United States. Of that number, there were 329 whites, 165 blacks, 112 Hispanics, 24 members of other races and 107 people whose race was unknown.

Thank goodness, Patty Murray and Lamar Alexander actually care about people having access to the doctor and hospital. Hope they are successful in their efforts to preserve the Affordable Care Act Subsidies.

The small part of the NFL that was tax-exempt gave that up two years ago.

The ACA is now TrumpCare. Trump and the Republicans now OWN health care in America.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming about what you want to do in the future. Just make sure it’s something good. Dream about something that will help others – and help you.

A recent "Sound off" writer cited Article 1 of our Constitution to defend our government getting into the healthcare business. "General Welfare" includes everyone. Subsidizing an individual's health insurance is specific welfare. Medicare is okay. We paid for that with money taken out of paychecks.
