Incorrect reporting by Winston Skinner in regards to Yates’ firing by president. She refused to follow executive orders. She took a political stand rather than do her job. He had every right to fire her. To say otherwise is biased and fake news. Sad it has reached our little local newspaper.

Will someone remind the allegedly Republican president that the federal government’s powers do not include tellings private companies – media outlets, sports teams – who to hire and fire and how to handle personnel issues.

We are halfway through high school football season. Why aren't we seeing stats on individuals, schools, and county leaders? Individual game stats or yardsticks are also important, as they can sometimes tell more about the game than the write-ups themselves.

I wonder what the postal service thinks the return addresses are put on mail for. If they don’t want to or can’t deliver it to its destination, why not return it to the sender?

Prison Talk: People, just think about spending all your life in here. I mean, you have no freedom in here. You do what are you are told to do. You can’t go out and play when you want to. Man, you got to be lower than a fool to want to come to this place. If I had another chance, I wouldn’t come back to this place. Stay out of trouble.

I liked the Polman column.

Hotels: we don’t have enough of them. When bad storms hit in other places, we don’t have enough places for people to stay until they can return home.

Disrespect for the flag, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Kneeling before it to protest the killing of innocent people is not disrespect. To me, the ultimate disrespect for the flag occurs when it is waved at KKK, Neo-Nazi, and other white supremacist rallies.
