Mildred Barber Crews

Mrs. Mildred Barber Crews, 91, of Luthersville, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at her home.

Mrs. Crews was born February 14, 1926, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late John Kiser Barber and Nannie Roberta Hayes Barber.  A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and had owned and operated Crews Grocery in the Primrose Community for 30 years prior to her retirement.  

She was a talented seamstress and loved gardening, cooking, canning and sharing what she produced with others.

Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Nancy and Wayne Gammon of Luthersville, Cornelia and Brad Landreau of Newnan; grandchildren, James Landreau and his wife Veronica, Mark Gammon and Todd Gammon; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Crews, and her grandson, Christopher Landreau.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 14, at the graveside in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rocky Mount Community, with the Reverend Michael Hornsby officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday night.
