Alpha Delta Kappa to host Coweta Christmas Nov. 11

Alpha Delta Kappa, Chi Chapter will hold its annual Coweta Christmas fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Coweta County Fairgrounds.

Closer to home, the Chi Chapter awards four scholarships each spring to graduating seniors in the Coweta County School System who plans to pursue a career in education. The organization raises funds to support the scholarship and other Alpha Delta Kappa projects through Coweta Christmas event, a holiday fair and sale held each year at the Coweta County Fairgrounds.

This year’s Coweta Christmas will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will feature entertainment by local children’s choral and dance groups, Christmas gift vendors, a silent auction, a Secret Santa Shop for children, photos with Santa, children’s crafts, food and beverages. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

Alpha Delta Kappa promotes service by supporting altruistic and world understanding projects, according to its mission statement. Among charities and projects supported by Alpha Delta Kappa International throughout the years are St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association and the building and support of schools in Vietnam, Peru, South Dakota and Haiti.
