Alline Helton Allgood

Alline Helton Allgood, 80, of Newnan, Ga. passed away at home on Saturday, September 30, 2017. 

She was born in Carroll County on March 8, 1937 to Lewis Jefferson Helton and Della Musick Helton of the Lowell Community.

Ms. Allgood lived in the Roscoe Community for 57 years and was known for her love of cooking and entertaining her friends and family. She also adored watching the songbirds in her backyard and shared her love for birds with many family members and friends. She did enjoy a good game of Scrabble and Pass-Word and excelled in both games.

She was of the Methodist Faith.

She led an active life and worked at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, Ga. for 25-plus years until her health declined and she could no longer work.
 
Alline was so fond of her southern "Lowell" roots and longed to go there as often as she could. It is fitting that she be laid to rest in Lowell, beside her Mother and Father and other family members.

Ms. Allgood is survived by her sons, Craig (Karen)Allgood of Newnan, Ga. and Tim (Cindy) Allgood of Leadville, Colorado; and grandchildren, Whitney (Matt) Cathey of Priceville, Alabama, Allison Allgood of Newnan, Ga., Eli Allgood of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Heyden Allgood of Silverthorne, Colorado; and great-grandsons, Nash and Grey Cathey of Priceville, Alabama. 

She is also survived by her dear nieces whom she loved as daughters and her nephews who meant the world to her and all called her "Nennie." and also her beloved lifelong friends.

Alline was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Jefferson Helton and Della Musick Helton as well as her four sisters, Edna Petty, Clara Duncan, Fay Williamson and Blanche Bledsoe. 

The family is grateful to her caregivers, Wanda Carroll, Kensly Simmons and Lillian Bradley. 

The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Hightower Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ga., with Rev. Tim Constine officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Lowell Community Cemetery in Lowell, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Eli Allgood, Heyden Allgood, Steve Bledsoe, Charlie Brown, David Lassetter and Johnny Rice.
