Tracy Adair Tolar, 79, peacefully passed away on Monday August 28, 2017, at his home in Birmingham Ala., surrounded by his family.
Tracy was born on November 29, 1937 in Atlanta, Ga.
He was the owner of a floral wholesale business (The Hammock) for over 25 years. During this time, his customers became more like his friends and family.
His greatest joy and pleasures in life were being with his kids and grandkids along with the many family gatherings for fish fries, Easter Egg Hunts and 4th of July cookouts.
Hobbies that he enjoyed were rebuilding cars, building his log cabin home and anything else he could tinker with. He also enjoyed golfing with his brothers and fishing with family. Tracy honorably served four years in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife Camille of 54 years; sister, Joyce Bishop; son, Tracy (and Carla); daughter, Susan (and Ken) Hestley; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Morgan and Andrew; brother in-law, Bill (and Nancy) Howell; sister in-laws, Ann Howell and Thelma Tolar; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Worth Tolar Jr. and Margaret (Swinney) Tolar; brothers, Sam and Ted Tolar; brother in-laws, Jim Howell and Joe Bishop; sister-in-law, Shirley Tolar; and great-nephew, Eli Bishop.
He was a long-time member of Turin United Methodist Church and later of Cokes Chapel, Newnan. His faith in Jesus kept him humble in life and sustained him during his long illness.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan with Pastor Scott Brown officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at McKoon Funeral Home.
