Reba Elizabeth Cannon Strickland, 92, of Newnan, widow of Ben Lee Strickland Sr., died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at her home.

Born in Newnan, March 31, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Bert Lee Cannon and Ophelia Dewberry Cannon. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and was known for her ability to make cakes, which she enjoyed doing for many.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are three children, Sherry Raburn and husband Doug of Carrollton, Lee Strickland and wife Latrelle and Karen Lassetter, all of Newnan; grandchildren, Jason Raburn and wife Mary and Kristie Poor and husband Jason, all of Carrollton, Dustin Strickland and wife Rachel, Travis Strickland and wife Abigail and Summer Lassetter, all of Newnan; great-grandchildren, Kade, Evie, Elizabeth, Austin, Autumn, Savannah and Chloe; two sisters, Charlsie Hardigree of LaGrange and Melba Kitchens of Atlanta; two brothers, Garfield Cannon and wife Nell of Palmetto and B.L. Cannon of North Carolina.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church, 762 Smokey Road, with Dr. Melvin Payne, Reverend Alton Midgett officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street.
