Move the capital to Kansas

Alex McRae's analysis of who's got the problem in The Swamp is "spot on!"

I say this as a former Capitol Hill staffer.

My solution: A new campaign to leave the Beltway and all those "pesky" historical monuments on traffic circles behind. Move the nation's capital to Lebanon, Kansas, the geographic center of the lower 48.

Return to our national roots by placing the capital city equidistant to ALL states of the union. This change of capital city will not be our first. We've added ample real estate since the Louisiana Purchase. It's high time to centrally locate, holding to our national precedent set in 1801.

An efficient, results-driven government policy can only be acted upon from a location set with that Mission in mind.

The results: Those outside the Beltway don't require all the D.C. underwriting seemingly expected by our Congressional Leadership. The aura of Swamp emblems seems to have clouded or erased their abilities to perform.

Communicate with your elected officials today. The message: Lebanon, Kansas.
