The Heritage Hawks football team blocked three punts, including one that was recovered for a touchdown, en route to a huge 48-7 win over the Loganville Christian Academy Lions Friday night in GISA Region 1-AAA action in Loganville.
Heritage got back on track after their huge loss two weeks ago to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in region play. LCA falls to 2-3, 0-1.
“It was a great bounce-back win after our big loss to Southland Academy. I think the guys worked hard over the bye week and we played well against LCA,” said Hawks first-year head coach Micah Alba.
Heritage junior Henry Arnall got the fun started early for the Hawks with a long touchdown run on the second play of the game. The extra point was missed and Heritage led 6-0. The Heritage offense kept rolling and took a 27-7 lead at the half.
Wright Arnall scored two TDs and senior running back Anthony Williams rushed for three TDs Friday. Williams also recovered one of the blocked punts for a TD for Heritage, which travels to play region opponent Holy Spirit Prep (1-3, 0-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
