The East Coweta Lady Indians stayed unbeaten Thursday night with a 10-0 victory at non-region county rival Northgate in a game called after five innings.
With the win, East Coweta improved to 14-0, while Northgate fell to 5-6.
East Coweta pitcher Kelley Lynch was unhittable, pitching the first three innings and not allowing a hit. She also struck out seven batters.
Rachel Vaughan pitched the last two innings, giving up a hit and striking out one.
It was the second time in 24 hours Northgate lost to a county rival. On Wednesday, the Lady Vikings fell to Newnan 4-2.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning, the Lady Indians scored three times in the top of the third, and from there, they never looked back.
East Coweta also pushed four runs across the plate in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Northgate used two pitchers in the game with Alissa Bolinger and Liz Sebastian each striking out two East Coweta batters.
East Coweta outhit Northgate 12-1.
Lilly Agan and Olivia Davis led the way with two hits for the Lady Indians. Davis and Vaughan also drove in two runs each.
Ashlynn Gunter, and Caroline Lively had an RBI each for the Lady Indians.
Trinity Ingleston had Northgate’s only base hit.
East Coweta plays Union Grove in a non-region game Monday night, before traveling to Newnan on Tuesday. The winner of the East Coweta-Newnan contest will be in first place in the Region 2-AAAAAAA standings.
