On the day of Tuesday, August 29, 2017, Larry Cook Hesterlee proved that every good fighter has one last good fight left in him.
He was a simple man who enjoyed nothing more that the feeling of sweat on his brow and his hands in the dirt of a summer garden. His years were marked by few words but many actions of love and loyalty.
He is survived by those who worked in his garden with him, swung a hammer with him and reveled with him in the satisfaction of a hard day’s work. Let us hope that in the world beyond, there is still much to do for a simple man.
