The Peachtree City National Little League team, which features Coweta County player Jayce Blalock, kept its good run going in the Little League Baseball Southeast Regional Tournament Tuesday afternoon with a 4-1 win over the Tennessee-Goodlettsville team at Little League Southeast Park.
Blalock, who hit a long grand slam in the first inning Sunday afternoon against South Carolina-Greenville, didn’t homer on Tuesday but the Grantville slugger did get a hit and he led PTC with two runs scored – including the first run of the game. PTC jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, and Tennessee-Goodlettsville scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth.
P.J. Green led PTC with two runs batted in Tuesday.
PTC didn’t commit a single error in the game while Tennessee-Goodlettsville made several mistakes Tuesday. PTC only had three hits to seven for the Tennessee team, but PTC was able to win and advance to today’s Southeast Regional championship game against North Carolina-North State Little League, which airs at 3 p.m. on ESPN.
