It’s taken a couple of weeks, but drivers at Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Thursday Thunder Series have finally made up races lost to rain.
Thursday night, the Bandolero Outlaws, the Bandits and the Rookie Bandoleros had to compete twice.
Now the seventh of the 10-week series has been completed.
For Senoia driver Joshua Hicks, who races in both the Bandolero Outlaw Series and the Legends Pro Division, it’s been a busy two weeks.
Hicks raced four times last week, twice in each division, and three times Thursday night, racing twice in the Outlaws Division and once in the Legends Pro Division.
Hicks, who has been a model of consistency all season in the Outlaws Division, finished second in both of his Outlaw races and 10th in his Pro Division.
Senoia’s Aprillia Holt competed twice in the Outlaws Division, finishing 10th in her first race and 12th in her second event.
In the Semi-Pro Division, Senoia’s David Lawrence was seventh.
Kenny Brady won the first Outlaw race, with Michael Gannon taking the checkered flag in the second race.
Other winners included River Allen (Bandits), Maddox Langham (Rookie Bandoleros), Ryan Rackley (Young Lions), Bill Plemmons (Masters), Ford Childers (Rookie Bandoleros), Hudson Hadler (Semi-Pro), Carson Ruark (Bandits), Matthew Widner (Chargers) and David Fletcher (Pro).
The Thursday Thunder Legends Series presented by Papa John’s Pizza continues with Week 8 on July 20, featuring the Kid’s Candy Scramble during the autograph session prior to the evening’s feature races.
Infield admission is available for spectators wishing to watch Thursday Thunder, and passes may be purchased at the Security Command building near the speedway's main entrance. Infield passes are $20, while grandstand tickets cost $5, with children ages 5 and younger admitted free.
