With just two events to go in the Thursday Thunder racing series at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the points championships in each division could come down to just one or two drivers.
Local driver Joshua Hicks goes into the final two races in the Bandolero Outlaw Division with a 20-point lead over second place driver Blaise Maddox.
Hicks and Maddox have taken the checkered flag three times each.
Michael Gannon has one victory in the Outlaw Division and is 39 points behind Hicks. Kenny Brady, who trails Hicks by 52 points, has also won once.
The Semi-Pro Division has the tightest points race with Rafe Slate holding a two-point lead over Hudson Halder. Brandon Brock is in third place and 21 points behind the leader.
Despite going into the ninth week of the season in second place, Halder is the only competitor in the Semi-Pro Series with more than one victory.
Slate, Brock, Connor Younginer, Cody Hall and Christopher Clanton have each won one race in the Semi-Pro Division.
Senoia’s David Lawrence is in seventh place in the Semi-Pro Division, 28 points behind Slate.
The Pro Division is also tight with just nine points separating the top four drivers. William Martin leads the way, but only has a three-point lead over Russell Fleeman. Corey Heim is six points back, and Jensen Jorgensen nine points back.
The Masters Division could also come down to the final two weeks. Scott Moseley has a nine-point cushion over second place Robert Woodall. Mark Swain is in third place, just 12 points back.
With three wins and seven top-five finishes, Grant Thompson takes a commanding 36-point lead into the final two races in the Bandits Division.
