It was a busy night for East Coweta High School student Joshua Hicks as the 20th season of Thursday Thunder got underway at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton.
Hicks raced in two separate divisions on the opening night, competing in the Bandolero Outlaws and the Legends Pro series.
By the time the checkered flags came out, Hicks was second behind Blaise Maddox in the Outlaws race and fifth in the Pro Division.
Last year’s Masters’ Division champion, Scott Mosley, picked up right where he left off with a victory in his first Thursday Thunder race of the year. Mark Swan was second and Bill Plemons third.
It was a good night for the Hadler brothers as Hudson won the Semi-Pro Division and Harrison took the checkered flag in the Young Lions Division.
After three of the five drivers in the Chargers Division were disqualified, Trey Tadrzak edged Ian Hampton for the win.
The Bandits division was the largest of the night with 14 cars starting the race. In the end, Kenneth Henderson took the checkered flag.
Cole McKeehan won the Rookie Bandolero Division.
Jensen Jorgensen took first place in the Pro Division, followed by Matthew Barnard, Bubba Harry and Corey Heim.
