School is still several weeks away, but folks in Senoia and Luthersville are already working to gather supplies for the 2017-2018 school term.

Our Father's Table will hold its second Back to School Bash on July 15 at the Senoia Park building on Seavy Street in Senoia. The event will begin at noon.

Organizers hope to make the event an annual one.

“School supplies for grades K-12, clothes, shoes and bookbags will be given away,” said Patti Phillips, who is helping with publicity for the Senoia project.

“Last year, 200 children were helped by receiving these donations. Donations are being accepted through July 14,” she said.

She said all donations are tax deductible.

Our Father's Table is a non-profit “serving basic needs to the community to help them survive daily living,” Phillips said. The organization was founded by Jay and Darlene Hand Harper in 2016.

To make a donation of items or money to purchase supplies, or for more information,  call 470 -345-3172.

Brian Hosmer, pastor of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Luthersville, said Rehoboth is collecting items that area students will need starting in August.

“We are in need of a lot of school supplies that will be given out on Aug. 4,” he said. Donors can take items to the church or call Hosmer at 770-294-5243 for pickup.

Rehoboth is gathering items for students from kindergarten through high school seniors.
