Local stylist nominated for prestigious industry award

A Newnan stylist, originally hailing from Oxford, England, has been nominated for two of the most prestigious awards in the hair styling industry. Sharon Tranter has qualified for both haircutting and texture categories for NAHA (North American Hairstyling Awards). NAHA is touted as the most elite of all hairstyling competitions and is often described as “The Oscars of the hairdressing industry.”

The nominations are based on high couture imagery that the hair stylist conceptualizes and develops by working closely with photographers, stylists and makeup artists to complete the look. Each category of NAHA accepts only five nominees and these are chosen from thousands of entrees throughout North America. The NAHA ceremony will take place in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 9.

Tranter states, “It’s an honor for my work to be showcased with the industry’s most elite stylists.”

Tranter owns a salon in downtown Newnan and caters to a private client base.
