Small Business of the Year nominations due tomorrow

Nominations for the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce’s sixth annual Small Business of the Year Awards are due tomorrow.

The original deadline was May 8.

Award categories are:

  • Entrepreneur Category (one to five employees)

  • Growth Category (six to 19 employees)

  • Employer Category (20+ employees)

  • Overall Winner

Last year's winners included Overall Winner Dogwood Veterinary Hospital and Laser Center; Entrepreneur Category Winner Crezent #Managed Marketing; Growth Category Winner Penco Restoration; and Employer Category Winner Infiniti of South Atlanta.

The Small Business of the Year Awards pay tribute to the strength of small businesses. The Small Business of the Year Awards ceremony luncheon will be held Oct. 4.

Past overall winners are ineligible for nomination for five years, and past category winners are ineligible for nomination for three years from the date of their award.

Peak Capital Partners Acquires Columbia Wood Townhomes in Newnan

Peak Capital Partners, a Utah-based apartment investment and management company, recently announced its acquisition of  Columbia Wood Townhomes, a 120-unit affordable apartment community in Newnan.

Columbia Wood Townhomes is Peak’s sixth apartment community to be acquired in Georgia.

In a press release, the management company said Newnan is a highly desirable location with strong median incomes and is a 30-minute drive to the employment centers surrounding Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

“Peak is thrilled to add Columbia Wood Townhomes to our Georgia portfolio,” said Nathan Nelson, vice president of acquisitions at Peak. “We will be adding several more communities in the Atlanta area in the coming months.”
