Small Business of the Year nominations open

Nominations for the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce’s sixth annual Small Business of the Year Awards are open. 

Award categories are:
Entrepreneur Category (one to five employees)
Growth Category (six to 19 employees)
 Employer Category (20+ employees)
Overall Winner

Last year's winners included Overall Winner Dogwood Veterinary Hospital and Laser Center; Entrepreneur Category Winner Crezent #Managed Marketing; Growth Category Winner Penco Restoration; and Employer Category Winner Infiniti of South Atlanta.

The Small Business of the Year Awards pay tribute to the strength of small businesses. The Small Business of the Year Awards ceremony luncheon will be held Oct. 4.

Past overall winners are ineligible for nomination for five years, and past category winners are ineligible for nomination for three years from the date of their award.

Application deadline for this year’s awards is Monday, May 8. Nominations may be faxed to the chamber at 770-253-2271 or email cynthia@newnancowetachamber.org

Job fair at Job Networking Tuesday

The Job Network Ministry, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Labor, Goodwill Industries and the Newnan-Peachtree City Employers Committee, will host a spring job fair on Tuesday, May 9 in the parish hall of First United Methodist Church, 33 Greenville St., from 4–7 p.m. 

The job fair will provide access to both local employers and employment agencies. Job seekers should come dressed for success and bring several copies of their resume.
