Smith Chapel United Methodist Church will have Pack-A-Pew Day on Sunday.
The service will start at 11 a.m. Joe Geter, pastor of Powell Chapel United Methodist Church, will be preaching. “We invite all family and friends to come out and fill the pews,” member Louise Moore said.

John Lanier will be at Miracle Way Baptist Church, Hwy. 85, Senoia on Sunday.
Lanier “is an evangelist and Christian recording artist,” member Doris Chappell said. “John proclaims a crucified and resurrected Christ to the world.”

New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Luthersville will hold its Women and Men Day Celebration on Sunday.
“Women and Men Walking in Faith” will be the theme for the day. The Women Day program will start at 11 a.m. with Linda Dixon, associate minister of Emmanuel Life and Worship Center, speaking.
Men Day will be at 2 p.m. Aaron Williams, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Shiloh, will bring the message.
Dinner will be served after the evening service.

Publix employees volunteered at the Salvation Army in Newnan on April 4.
They were among more than 5,500 Publix associates across the company’s six operating states who volunteered with more than 150 local nonprofit organizations focusing on the plight of the hungry and homeless. “Community service is ingrained in our culture – it’s who we are,” said said Maria Brous, director of media and community relations for Publix.
Heather Creech, Newnan service center director for the Salvation Army, said 21 Publix employees came to the center where they helped spread grass seeds and cut down Bradford pear trees.

A series of “Why?” questions were explored during Lenten services at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City.
There also was music from the Peace Ringer and the Shepherd’s Flock Singers. The sanctuary choir introduced a new anthem by Baton Rouge, Louisiana, teacher/church musician/composer Linda Hansen Manes.
Manes, whose sister-in-law Kathy is a choir member, was present for the debut of “The Lord Is My Shepherd,” featuring flutist Rita DeNell.
