John Almond Faulkner was born March 29, 1920 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Mr. Faulkner was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on August 28, 1946. He and his family moved to Long Island, N.Y., where he lived and worked until they moved to enjoy retired life here in Georgia. He was loved and respected by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Blanche V. Wells Faulkner; child, Ashley R. Faulkner; and grandchild, Laverne C. Williams. He is survived by his children, Maude O. Faulkner, Lawrence G. Faulkner, Blanche V. Faulkner Williams; grandchildren, Catherine S. Williams Mackey, Jennifer D. Williams, Stephanie Y. Williams, Charlotte D. Williams, Tarelle C. Faulkner, Terence R. Faulkner, Carrie A. Faulkner Hammond, Iris C. Faulkner, Casey Faulkner; great-grandchildren, Jazmine M. Mackey, Jerome M. Mackey, Olivia N. Mackey, Terence R. Faulkner Jr., Jordan A. Moton, Kordero B. Faulkner, Nallini H. Faulkner, Jeremiah E. Coach; sister, Cecelia Faulkner Romney; and many other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at The Cathedral of Christ the King, Sharpsburg, with Bishop David Epps officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
